Pasadena’s Castle Green is one of the most fascinating buildings I’ve visited in LA County. The 1898 building was originally an annex to the resort Hotel Green. It has recently been turned into condos. Just last month I was able to go to their semi-annual open house, and got a glimpse inside the gates and at a great number of private residences. There will be another tour in December when the building will be decked out for the holidays. However, if you can’t wait until December to get inside, you are in luck!
This Sunday, July 12th, you can picnic on the grounds and enjoy a wonderful summer’s night watching a preview of The Dawn of Quixote before Juli Crockett and the Evangenitals head over to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The play starts at 5pm, but get there when the gates open at 3:30pm to enjoy the art show, craft fair, face painting, music, and sangria!
